Irish barista invents his own take on bulletproof coffee

The ‘bulletproof’ style coffee is on sale at today’s new lunchtime food market at George’s Quay in Dublin city centre

Tony Divito – yes, that is his real name – is one of the growing band of young Irish people returning from abroad and bringing with them great new ideas for food businesses.

The former restaurant manager from Cabinteely recently returned from Australia, where he trained as a barista and Cafealso worked as a Crossfit instructor, and has just launched Cocobrew. It’s his answer to the bulletproof coffee craze beloved of fitness fans in which butter and high grade coffee are combined in a drink for which weight loss and energy boosting properties have been claimed.

It looked warm, inviting and coffee-filled – basically, my idea of heaven.

So I popped in thinking I’d grab an Americano and head straight for the bus.

Cocobrew – A Welcome Treat in the Heart of Bustling Temple Bar

Struggling to pass through the hordes of tourists, locals and revellers who had come up for the Coldplay concert that evening, I was relieved to spot Cocobrew across the cobbled streets of Temple Bar.

With its cream and pale brown exterior, Cocobrew‘s colouring aptly resembles a creamy cup of coffee. Its tall windows provide ample opportunity to watch as people hurry by, rushing to the next
shop or pub.

So I popped in thinking I’d grab an Americano and head straight for the bus.
